Oasis Creative Design, 814 East 10th Street, is a marketing company that makes t-shirts and hires local talent.
“I think what we have in mind is to aim high, to set goals for the business here in Alamogordo, to bring the people of Alamogordo on board a little at a time, to train them to doing things the way I know how to do them, effectively and giving them the opportunity to take an interest in the business, ”said Fred Moran, Creative Design Director of Oasis.“ They don’t work for me; they work with me. Which is important because I want someone I can count on. ”
Moran first moved to Alamogordo to start a small manufacturing company, Moran and Wright, which closed due to COVID-19, Moran said.
Moran’s company made jewelry cleaning and care products under the name Rich Glo, which Moran has been doing for 30 years, he said.
Oasis Creative Design adds to this concept by being an advertising agency in Alamogordo with clients throughout the Southwestern United States, Moran said.
“We have grown (the jewelry business) because of the extra work that we do in terms of graphic design and photography, printing and stuff like that,” Moran said. “We do a number of things from photography, printing, corporate identity programs. All of those different things.”

Moran’s jewelry cleaning and care products have been used by Avon Corporation, the Home Shopping Network and several department stores over Moran’s 30 years of business.
“We supplemented (jewelry cleaning and care products) by printing them for some of our customers,” Moran said. “When they do promotions and things like that, we print the process straight away.”
Most of Oasis Creative Design’s customer base is from Moran’s jewelry cleaning and care business, Moran said.
The process is carried out using a clothing printer which has enabled Oasis Creative Design to expand into t-shirt printing.
The garment printer is capable of printing in 256 colors.
“We’re pretty amazed at the reception we’ve got about this,” Moran said.
One of the reasons for starting an advertising agency is that Moran could hire local talent.
“A lot of people grow up in a town like Alamogordo: go to school here, get out of school here, want to stay in town but they don’t necessarily want to work (with minimal chances of advancement),” Moran said. . noted.
Moran pointed to worker Ryan Hamm who was hired by the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions as part of the job training program.
Hamm has a degree in graphic design, which was a plus for Moran when Hamm was hired.
“Having a degree in (graphic design), I knew he could do some of the things I needed and my expertise and experience in the field, we help each other with the design and what we need to do and how to improve … our customers’ product. “
Part of the salary for Hamm’s first six months of employment came from the federal government until Hamm was formed, Moran said.
Hamm has worked for Moran for three years.
“Once we get a little more set up… I plan to go to (New Mexico State University-Alamogordo) and find people who are determined to stay in Alamogordo and grow my business from the bottom up.”
Moran started his jewelry cleaning business in Canada in 1985 before moving to Roswell where he had a manufacturing facility.
“Twenty-nine years later my partner passed away and I moved to Alamogordo ready to retire but never did,” Moran said. “I will never retire. Life would be terribly boring.”
