The creative market takes over the parking lot

ARTBOX, the popular creative market from Thailand, made its debut in Sunway City.

Synonymous with the use of reused shipping containers, the event brought together more than 300 local and regional suppliers from Singapore, Thailand.

and Indonesia over the two weekends.

Visitors were spoiled for choice in terms of food, as vendors sold Singapore laksa, Thai teas, grilled meat kebabs, and rainbow-colored drinks.

There were even stalls selling handicrafts, fashion and jewelry.

What’s an Artbox event without an Instagram-worthy spot?

There were 15 shipping containers adorned with artwork from Sunway University students, digital art installations and string lights that stretched for 6 km to serve as a backdrop.

Artbox Malaysia took place over two weekends. For those who missed out on the first part of the event last weekend, be sure to make your way to Sunway City’s open-air outdoor parking lot today.

Co-organized by Invade and Ad-nology and supported by Sunway Group as the site’s official partner, Artbox Malaysia occupied an area of ​​150,000 square feet of the Sunway City outdoor outdoor parking lot.

“We are delighted to welcome Artbox to Sunway City Kuala Lumpur, which is a unique experience that will attract art lovers, aspiring designers and foodies to Sunway City for this first attraction in Malaysia,” said Tan Sri, founder and chairman of Sunway Group. Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Cheah.

On the first day of the event, November 9, was in attendance the Chairman and CEO of Sunway Group of Sunway Shopping Malls and Theme Parks, HC Chan.

“Sunway City is a great fit for this lifestyle driven market event as we have a large and vibrant youth population with shopping malls, theme parks, universities, residences and offices around; and it is very relevant.

“We hope to target at least half a million people over the two weekends and expect up to 20% of visitors to come from overseas,” Chan said.

For those who missed the first part of the event last weekend, be sure to visit Sunway City today through November 18.

As for parking, visitors are advised to park at Sunway Pyramid Mall or The Pinnacle.

Or avoid traffic altogether and take public transportation as the BRT Sunway Lagoon station is a short walk from the venue.

Admission is free and its opening hours are from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
